One-time child-phone setup (required)

The child app only enforces rules after it becomes the device owner. This is a deliberate, two-minute safeguard using Android's official tooling.

  1. On the child phone, enable Developer optionsUSB debugging and connect it to a computer with a USB cable.
  2. Install the "Internet APK Manager" — skip that. Instead, from a terminal where ADB is installed run these two commands:
adb install FamilyLock-child.apk
adb shell dpm set-device-owner com.familylock.child/.receiver.LockAdminReceiver

The second command can only be run once — it's one-way by design. Then open the FamilyLock Child app, note the 6-digit pairing code, and add the device from the parent app while both phones are on the same Wi-Fi.

The APKs are signed with a per-release key. Verify the SHA-256 fingerprint on the Legal page before installing if you like.
