Privacy Policy

Effective: August 2026

The short version: FamilyLock has no accounts, no backend servers, and no analytics. Your data never leaves your own home network. We do not collect, store, or sell anything about you.

1. Data we collect

We do not run any servers, analytics, or trackers. The FamilyLock website is served by Cloudflare Pages, whose privacy policy applies to ordinary web requests (such as your IP address being logged briefly by the hosting provider). We do not read those logs for advertising or profiling.

2. Data the apps use

The apps store and use information only on devices you control:

InformationWhere it livesWhat it's used for
Pairing code and device addressOn both phones, in the app's private storageMutual authentication between your parent and child phones
Child device nameOn both phonesDisplaying the device in the parent app
Screen-time usage and app listOn the child device; shared only with your parent phone over Wi-FiEnforcing budgets, list restrictions, and location checks
Location, battery level, charging stateFetched on demand from the child phone to the parent phone over Wi-FiShowing you where the device is and its status

3. No cloud, no account

FamilyLock is deliberately local. Nothing about your family, your devices, your location, or your apps is sent to us. There is no account to create, so there is no account data to protect or to hand over.

4. The update check

When opened, each app may fetch familylinker-apk.pages.dev/version.json to see whether a newer release exists. This request contains no personal data — only a web request to a static file, which your network and the hosting provider may log in the ordinary course.

5. Kid safety and consent

If you use this software on a child's device, the personal data involved is used solely by you for the purpose of supervising that device. Please install it only where you have the right to do so, and be transparent with your family about monitoring in line with local laws and your own values.

6. Data retention, correction and deletion

Because data stays on the devices, you manage it directly:

7. Security

Traffic between the two apps is authenticated with an HMAC-SHA256 token derived from your pairing code. No passwords are stored. Because enforcement is local, the main risk is someone on your own Wi-Fi; keep your home Wi-Fi secured and your pairing codes private.

8. Children's data

We never touch children's data — it stays on the family's own devices. We do not offer an online service and therefore do not process children's personal data on any server.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
